Black Arts Racing Dominates China F4 Season Opener, Leads Championship

Black Arts Racing [BAR] took to the opening weekend of the 2017 China F4 Championship this weekend in typical fashion, dominating the competition with P1 & P2 in qualifying and an astounding 2 of 3 race wins.

In Saturday's qualifying, BAR drivers Charles Leong [Macau] and Louis Prette [Monaco] took to the top of the timesheets to take Pole Position and 2nd, respectively. This was an especially talented feat for Louis Prette who had a total of four sessions in the F4 car before qualifying- this being his first-ever F4 race weekend, against a field of seasoned competitors.

In Saturday afternoon's Race One, Prette got off to an incredible start and managed to pass Leong to immediately take the lead, with a battle behind them for P3 going on for several laps until Prette went off track in Turn 7, dropping to 7th. With Leong now in the lead, which he kept until the checkered flag, Prette managed to pick up several positions to finish a fine 4th in his first-ever F4 race, in a car he'd driven for the first time just two days before.

With Sunday's Race Two grid being determined by the results of race one, Prette started P4 with Leong starting again on Pole. Charles Leong lead the race from start to finish, while Prette was hit while charging up the field and dropped back, but charged back up to finish 7th.

Sunday's Race Three featured a reverse grid, based on the results of Race Two. Leong moved up from starting last as a result of the reverse grid, all the way to 4th while Prette held 2nd place until making an off-track excursion, coming back to finish 6th.

BAR wrapped up the weekend with Leong leading the 2017 China F4 Championship – BlackArts Racing now leads the two major two premier junior open-wheel championship in the region, the Asian Formula Renault Championship and the FIA China Formula 4 Championship.

The next China F4 race weekend will be held at Chengdu International Circuit on 19-21 May. For more information on BlackArts Racing, please visit http://www.blackartsracing.com or on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/BlackArtsRacingAcademy.
