BlackArts Racing drivers head to Macau GP for FIA China F4 season finale
Macau SAR, China–
This weekend, BlackArts Racing drivers will take on FIA China F4 at the 67th Macau GP, November 19-22, at the world-renowned Macau Guia Street Circuit.
BAR is a triple Team Champion and two-time FIA China F4 Driver Championship winning team in the short five year history of the FIA China F4 series.
In this weekend’s Macau GP BAR’s F4 team will consist of talented drivers YJ Zhu and Ling Kang, both from China, whom have already been receiving training by the team for the extremely challenging legendary Guia circuit.
YJ Zhu visited the podium twice this year in FIA China F4’s most recent round, and thanks to an additional top-5 finish and otherwise strongly consistent results, he is currently 5th in the Driver’s Points.
China F4 newcomer Ling Kang has an extensive racing background including GP3 and Formula 3, after moving to formula with notable karting championship victories under his belt.
Rounds One and Two of the 2020 FIA China F4 Championship each held four races, so in Macau each race will count for double points - meaning the 2020 Drivers Title and Top 3 for the season is still very much up for grabs.
The action will start Friday the 19th with two 35 minute practices, at 9:40am and 2:05pm.
Saturday’s 20 minute qualifying session will take place at 9am, followed by the qualification race [30min/8 laps] at 2:20pm.
Sunday’s main event, the 12 lap/40min main race, will take place at 3:30pm.
With live television and online broadcasts streamed around the world, the event will be viewed by millions, with the competitive 17 car field sure to bring plenty of action to race fans.
Ling Kang: "I am really excited to make my Macau debut with the formula car, especially as I did not have budget when I raced F3 five years ago. It will be a challenge as I’ve never drive this F4 and have never raced in Macau, but I am confident to achieve good results. Having done countless SIM sessions in preparation, I am well prepared.”
YJ Zhu: "Definitely incredibly excited to race in Macau, and I've been preparing a lot especially with the simulator. But, as its my first time there the main thing is not just to try to finish well but to be consistent and finish without any incidents!'
