Josh Burdon is set to see his international racing career take off again, as he moves to China and joins the reigning Asian Formula Renault Champions, BlackArts Racing within two weeks. The 23 year old Tasmanian was initially invited to join BlackArts Racing for their first of a series of winter tests in December 2015, with the team management viewing his signing as one of their strongest chances to secure back-to-back championships. “[BlackArts Racing] intends to keep winning races in the [Asian Formula Renault] championship in 2016," said Team Principal, Bill O’Brien, "having Josh with us for the full season gives us a talented, hard working young driver who is capable of winning every race he enters, in any format". "Combined with our well-prepared cars, Josh will have a chance to win races in AFR Class A, and has the potential to win the AFR championship." Equally impressed by the professionalism and passion of the BlackArts Racing operation, Burdon is excited to relocate to Zhuhai CHINA on a year-long contract, which will also have him working with their driver coaching and racing programmes. "After our successful winter testing with BlackArts Racing I was determined to secure a seat with them for the 2016 Asian Formula Renault season," said Burdon, "the desire in the team to win and defend their championship title is very intense, so I am very excited and humbled to have been given the job to do that". Established in 2000, Asian Formula Renault (AFR) is a one-make series using Formula 2.0 cars made by Renault in France, and is one of only four renowned Formula Renault Series globally, with races to be held in China and any of up to four other Asian countries for the 2016 season. "There have been many highs and lows in the last couple of years racing internationally, and after being out of a full time seat last year I am very hungry for success and to regain some momentum."
