Burdon tops the timesheets for the AFR lead-up event in Korea

Burdon tops the timesheets for the AFR lead-up event in KoreaMEDIA RELEASE: BlackArts Racing’s Josh Burdon has set the fastest time in all three unofficial practice sessions for the Asian Formula Renault Series at Korea International Circuit, ahead of the second Championship round this weekend, 13-15th May 2016. The dominating performance was a boost to the 23 year old Australian (TAS) after a bitter sweet opening round, which started with pole position and the race one win, but ended with an off whilst leading the second race in the rain. “€œI made a rookie mistake leading race two in the rain, which was a major disappointment after a perfect start to the season and left me in sixth place after the round,” said Burdon, “after a something like that, you want the next round to be next week to redeem yourself, so it’s been a long nearly two months.” “€œThis Korean Circuit is an amazing facility, very fast and technical, and a lot of fun,” said Burdon, “it’s obviously a great confidence boost to be on top of any session, but until we have the full green run in qualifying, I’m not going to get too far ahead of myself.” Round 2 of the Asian Formula Renault Series will feature two practice sessions, one each on Friday and Saturday, before Qualifying on Saturday with allocation of two new sets of tyres for the session, as the top two times for each driver will set the grid for each of the two races on Sunday. “€œA massive thumbs up and thanks to the crew at BlackArts Racing for the continued confidence in me, and I’ll be working hard to repay that faith in me this weekend; I’™m here to win.” Source: http://www.speedcafe.com/news_extra/burdon-tops-timesheets-afr-lead-event-korea/
