2015 Asian Formula Renault 2nd will be starting on 25th April, and on 24th drivers had finished two rounds of official practice. After the first round of AFR series in Zhuhai International Circuit, teams and drivers had done a lot of preparations and strategies prior the race in Sepang F1 Circuit, Malaysia this time. There were a total of 13 cars participating in this round of AFR. 1st round Class A champion Maxx Ebenal from BlackArts Racing Team clocked the best time in the first lap already. Yet, Garnet Patterson and Dan Wells from KCMG then pushed their time to the top 2 with 0.230s difference. Three drivers attempted to make the time within 2:06 but didn’t happen. Pu Jun Jin and Darma Hutomo from ART Racing Team were chasing right behind with not more than a second difference with the pole. Class B 1st round champion Andy Zheng from KRC maintained his momentum well and taking the pole during practice with no pressure, while the first Sepang comer James Runacres from ART Racing Team was starting to manage his pace and made to the second fastest. During the second practice at 2:30pm, Maxx, Garnet, Dan and Pu were having a close fight in the first 3 laps, with not more a second of gap. Darma from Humpuss JR Racing Team by ART had then joined the fight and clocking the 3rd fastest time in the group. By the 4th lap Garnet made a pit stop and changed to new tires, and made his personal best lap of 2:07.167. However, his teammate Dan also changed new tires and clocked the group fastest lap of 2:06.777 at lap 9. The other drivers such as Najiy from S&D Motorsports, Thomas Luedi from BlackArts Racing Team, and Sebastian from PS Racing had made a better lap time compare with first practice.
